Monolithic frame:
why we build this way

The frame is cast in reinforced concrete right on site. This gives freedom of layout, a structure that resists earthquakes as one whole, and a predictable pace, provided the formwork and crews are your contractor's own.

·

In short

What a monolithic
frame is

Columns, shear walls and slabs are poured on site, in formwork around a rebar cage.

The result is a single spatial structure with no joints between elements. Walls between columns are filled with block or brick and carry no load, so the layout can change without touching the structure.

Georgia is a seismically active region. A monolithic frame designed to current codes resists seismic loads with the whole structure.

Advantages

What a monolithic
frame gives

Layout

Open spans and replanning without altering load-bearing structures.

Seismic safety

A single structure designed for seismic loads to Georgian codes.

Storeys

One technology for a two-storey house and a twenty-storey building.

Pace

With our own formwork, every slab takes a predictable number of days.

Quality

Where strength
is decided

The quality of a monolithic frame is built on site, in every pour.

  1. 01
    Design and calculation

The structural engineer designs the frame for the loads, soils and seismicity of the plot.

  2. 02
    Reinforcement

Before each pour an engineer accepts the rebar: diameters, spacing, concrete cover.

  3. 03
    Concrete

Class as designed, slump control and test samples for strength.

  4. 04
    Curing and stripping

Concrete gains strength on schedule; formwork is never stripped early.

  5. 05
    Floor acceptance

An act signed with the technical supervisor before the next floor begins.

Questions

In short
the essentials

Is a monolithic frame more expensive than brick?

It depends on the building. In multi-storey buildings a monolithic frame often wins on pace and open layouts; for a private house the design estimate shows the difference.

How long does concrete take to gain strength?

Gradually. Stripping and loading follow the schedule in the method statement, adjusted for the weather.

Can you pour concrete in winter?

Yes, with concrete heating and anti-freeze admixtures. This is built into the estimate in advance.
